Flying to England

Posted by: travelra on: August 11, 2009

Well this morning it was an early start. Usually I’d be getting out of bed slowly and wanting to go back to sleep but this time I wasn’t. I was incredibly excited for the next three days because I was flying to England to see my friend Monique from back in Australia. Monique was visiting family for about one month just like my family and I will be doing in Holland. Once we’ve been in England for a few days we fly over to Holland to see my mum’s side of the family.

We were all ready to hope in the hire car and head off to Calgary International Airport. Our flight wasn’t until 9:00pm but we had to drop off the hire car at 11:00am. The hire car spot was a part of the airport so the airport was just across the road; which was really good because we wouldn’t have to bother about buses. We unloaded all of the suitcases and got a trolley to wheel them over to the front doors. Shortly after we looked at the boards to check if our flight was up there we sat down in a row of chairs. Mum said that we were going to be at the airport for the whole day, I thought it would be a good idea to get out our homework and get up to date.

“All passengers for flight to Heathrow International Airport please make your way to terminal 13.” It was about 8:15pm, time to walk to our terminal and hop on our plane to Heathrow. Our suitcases had already gone onto the plane; we just had to take our hand luggage on. Once we found our seats, sat down and listened to the flight hosts to the instructions for the exit routes the aeroplane it took off awfully rapid. Until we were up in the air flying we didn’t know that we each a little T.V with a big selection of movies, games and T.V shows. Lots of the movies had only just come out in the cinemas, like 17 again, Hannah Montana Movie, Monsters vs. Aliens and lots more. I went to sleep after I watched a movie at about 12pm. I had to get a bit of sleep because we arrived at Heathrow Airport at 7am.
